We invite you to submit a proposal that explores and embodies the Colloquium 2022 theme: Weaving a Tapestry of Universal Justice

1.   Consider the narratives we embody and explore.
  • What stories or experiences highlight, encourage, and deepen a spirit of community?
  • How do you work with students and colleagues to expand world views and contextualize justice?
  • How are we engaging in historical research, are we exploring narrative change, how do stories of resistance inform our work?
2.   How do we center relationships and create inclusive communities?
  • How do we embody universal justice in a way that acknowledges a more holistic awareness of our relationships with the Earth, the cosmos, our ancestors, and one another?
  • In what ways can we work to create solidarity across human rights struggles? How does the fight for justice and human rights in our own back yard connect with the struggles in other communities?
  • How do the diverse identities of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, benefactors, and neighbors shape our curriculum, practices and pedagogy?
  • How have virtual moments created new spaces for imagining justice and more inclusive praxis? Are there new opportunities for collaboration we can articulate?
3.   Explore how our common Dominican heritage helps us try to meet the needs of our world today and into the next chapter of Dominican higher education in the 21st century.
  • How do you incorporate Dominican heritage, spirituality, and ethos in your praxis, including the work around decolonization, anti-racism, sustainability, and more inclusive pedagogies?

  • How do our commitments to the four pillars evolve in the dynamic and fluid context in which we live today? Into the next chapter of Dominican higher education in the 21st century?
Proposals should consist of:

1) The title and the goal of the presentation;

2) A 250-word abstract of the content;

3) The structure of the session (panel, paper, poster, workshop);
