Dr. Bland is a full-time Assistant Professor in Nursing and Acting Executive Director of the Nursing Program at Dominican University. Tamara has spent many years as a staff nurse on medical/surgical, gastroenterology, home health nursing and intensive care units. As a nurse she focuses on working with marginalized communities providing patient education and empowering families to participate in their plan of care. Her passion is working to increase diversity in Higher Education, both among faculty and students, to benefit academia and the profession of nursing.
