Experts in Residence (Career Mentors)

Experts in Residence are available to serve as career mentors for CASS students. Industry leaders are ready to help you navigate your career. You can schedule an appointment with an Expert in Residence through Handshake once you are enrolled in your first course.

Handshake

Handshake is Dominican University’s career development platform. This tool serves as resource for you to schedule career development appointments, find a job or an internship, locate career development and recruiting events, and is similar to LinkedIn in that employers can recruit you. In order to schedule an appointment with an Expert in Residence once registered for your first semester, visit Handshake>Career Center>Appointments>and select your program of study.

CASS Career Development Pilot Course

Our Expert in Residence will teach a pilot undergraduate CASS Career Development course this fall semester, available to BPS students. This one-credit hour course is listed as SPCS 201.01 and is meant to help prepare students for the job market. It is designed for both career launchers and career changers. Please see your assigned advisor once you are accepted for scheduling assistance and to verify that it fits your plan of study.

For questions related to Handshake or career development, contact Jamie Shaw, Executive Director of Career Programs and Employer Relations.
