Political science majors who are interested in the field of law will greatly benefit from this concentration, which includes an overview of the fundamentals of public administration, a survey of constitutional law, and courses that help students build necessary critical thinking and logic skills. An introductory legal reasoning course provides a basic understanding of legal practice, while required macro– and microeconomics courses provide an overview of the influence the economy has on law.

Many students who study political science consider attending law school. The Department of Political Science houses Dominican’s pre-law advising program.
