Prepare for meaningful work in an exciting field

In this interdisciplinary major, you’ll learn to write, research issues, analyze data and solve real-world problems at a whole new level. Your advisor will help you tailor your program to meet your professional goals. You can choose up to two concentrations in high-demand fields (such as paralegal studies, public administration, labor relations, social justice, disability advocacy or criminal justice). You can even design your own concentration. You’ll learn how the legal system works, how it relates to social justice, and how to assist people in ensuring their rights.

A program designed with you in mind

With all the demands of work and family, who has time for college? You do. This major is flexible enough to meet the needs of working adults. You can take all of your courses online, in the classroom, or in any combination that works for you. You can transfer prior college credit toward your Dominican degree, and even earn credit for the knowledge and skills you’ve learned through life experiences. The university offers courses year-round in an accelerated eight-week format that enables you to complete your work in about 20 months. Why not start now?

In addition, the program’s foundational studies in the legal system, legal terminology and the liberal arts provide strong preparation for law or graduate school. There is also the option to take several graduate courses towards multiple degrees, such as conflict resolution, social work or library sciences and business by enrolling in an accelerated bachelor's to graduate degree saving time and money.
