Dominican Alumnus on the Front Line

Neil Ehmig '16 BSN, is a trauma nurse at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his unit has been transformed into a COVID-19 treatment center. Ehmig also is a U.S. Air Force Reserves Flight Nurse and a school nurse at his alma mater, St. Rita High School. He claims that everything he learned during his bachelor of nursing studies at Dominican University has prepared him for what his unit is facing now.

"I'm so confident in the teams that have been chosen to care for our COVID-19 patients. We are no strangers to trauma and thinking critically. When I walk into work, I feel a sense of pride, now more than ever," he said.
