Immigration regulations state that an F-1 student may enroll in only one online course towards fulfilling the minimum requirement for full-time. For example, an undergraduate must be registered for 9 credits of face-to-face instruction and 3 credits of online for status; a graduate student must be registered for one or two face-to-face courses and one online course (depending on the total of 18 for maintaining status).

If a student wishes to enroll in additional online courses, this is permitted, but it will not count towards status. These courses will count towards graduation requirements.

In the final semester before graduation, your final credits must be taken in a traditional course, not online.
