Ammie Kessem ’98 is running to represent the Illinois House 19th District. The Chicago Sun-Times Editorial Board recently sat down with Ammie to find out her views on a range of important issues facing the state of Illinois. 



Ammie has spent almost 20 years serving the community as a police officer and was recently promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Ammie is also an active parishioner of the St. Monica Catholic Church and has held numerous positions on various committees in the parish and school there including being a Girl Scout Leader as well as a member of the Pastoral Council. Ammie believes in giving back to her community and now wants to continue this passion by being representative of it down in Springfield.
