This non-degree, 100% online program is designed to prepare current educators to help students with disabilities to fully develop their intellectual and social capabilities.
The Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS I) Endorsement program is designed for teachers who are either:
Currently employed and interested in earning their LBS I endorsement in a flexible format through evening classes, or
Interested in working with students with disabilities at the grade range of their current Professional Educator License
Upon completion of the endorsement coursework, candidates may complete additional coursework to receive a Master of Arts in Education degree.
Endorsement Requirements
Candidates may apply for the Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement upon satisfactory completion of the prescribed curriculum while maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.0. In addition, candidates must:
Hold a valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
Pass the Learning Behavior Specialist content test
The endorsement program can be completed in approximately three to four semesters.
