Welcome Weekend 2023

Welcome Weekend 2023 will take place the weekend of August 25–27
This extension of Dominican's orientation program is required for all incoming first-year students and highly encouraged for incoming transfer students. Each new student is allowed two guests to join them during Welcome Weekend. During this weekend, students and their guest will attend engaging sessions, speakers, and panels to help students properly transition into the Dominican community. See below for a tentative schedule of the weekend.
Students will have multiple activities to attended to get to know each other and find their place on campus throughout the weekend. There is a full day of programming on Saturday, August 26, designed for students and their two guests. Students and their guests will choose from a variety of sessions offered throughout the day, enjoy lunch with others new to the Dominican community, participate in a resource fair featuring many departments at the university, and attend mass for new students and their guest. Lunch will be provided for all new students and their guests. Saturday night and Sunday provide multiple social events for new and continuing students to meet and get excited about starting the school year together.
Make sure to save-the-date for Welcome Weekend 2023!
Due to the ever-changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and campus density restrictions, as of right now, Welcome Weekend is for incoming students and two guests.
A note on COVID-19: Please know that the delivery and density of these events will depend upon the state’s and CDC’s guidance regarding gatherings during the month of August. We will have every possible precaution in place regardless to ensure the safety of our students and of our community. Masks will be required at all times when students are on campus for Welcome Weekend.
