Held the weekend before the start of the fall semester, this extension of Dominican's orientation program is required for all incoming first-year students and highly encouraged for incoming transfer students. During this weekend, students and their guest(s) will attend engaging sessions, speakers, and panels to help students properly transition into the Dominican community.

During Welcome Weekend, new students have the opportunity to get to know each other and find their place on campus at multiple events. There is a full day of programming on Saturday, designed for new students and their guest(s). Students and their guest(s) will also enjoy lunch with others new to the Dominican community, participate in a resource fair featuring many departments at the university, and attend mass. Saturday night and Sunday provide multiple social events for new and continuing students to meet and get excited about starting the school year together.

DU Fest is a free event for all DU Students. Students will join the Dominican University community in the Quad to kick off the new school year! The festival will include food trucks, live music and lots of free activities for the student community.

We look forward to meeting our new students and their guest(s) during Welcome Weekend! If you have any questions regarding Welcome Weekend, please contact sse@dom.edu.
