Welcome Weekend: Chicago Campus

Welcome Weekend for New & Returning Associate's Degree Students: 
August 21-23, 2026

During Welcome Weekend, new students will get to know each other and find their place on the Chicago Campus by participating in multiple events before classes begin. Welcome Weekend starts after the Transitions program ends. 
 
On Friday, Aug. 21, programming will include a Create Your Own Adventure: Chicago Campus Edition. On Saturday, Aug. 22, returning associate’s degree students will participate in an evening program to connect with other students, faculty and staff. Finally, on Sunday, Aug. 23, Chicago Campus students will join the River Forest campus community for DU Fest, an annual event on the Quad kicking off the new academic year. This festival includes food trucks, live music and lots of free activities.
