Contractor Resources
Username and Email Account
As a Dominican University (DU) contractor, your username and email account must be requested by a university sponsor (typically your direct supervisor or direct university contact). Once the request is received by Information Technology, you will be contacted to accept the university non-disclosure agreement. Usernames and email accounts are generated within two business days of receiving all required information listed above.
As a contractor, your university sponsor will specify a length of time in which your username and account will be active on the network. All contractor accounts are active for a maximum of one year, but can be renewed as necessary. If your account has expired, a renewal request must be submitted by your university sponsor.
Contractors receive an email account formatted as username@dom.edu (ex: jsmith@dom.edu). To log into any campus computer, enter your username (ex: jsmith) and email account password. Your username and password serve as a personal, digital identification to access technology resources such as Canvas, Zoom, Office 365, EngageDU and more.
Connecting to the DU Network
All DU office computers are physically wired to the DU network. For all non-wired devices, contractors must utilize the DU Wireless connection. DU Wireless offers an encrypted connection with unrestricted Internet access speed. To join the secured DU Wireless, you will need to provide your Dominican username and password at first connection.
Dominican University ID (Star Card)
Your DU identification card is the Star Card. The Star Card is your personal identification card and gives you access to campus buildings, printing, DU Dollars and more. Once you have received a contractor username and email account, a Star Card can be created for you. A personal ID such as a Driver’s License, State ID or Passport will be needed to create or replace a Star Card. Please visit the DU Information Technology Support Center during normal business hours to obtain a Star Card.
Office Computers and Telephones
Depending on the terms of your individual contract or agreement, university technology and/or telephone access may be issued to you. All requests for contractor technology must be initiated by your university sponsor through the DU-IT Support Center.
