Dominican fashion students take seriously the University’s mission of creating a more just and humane world. Ethical concerns loom increasingly large within the industry.

Dominican’s liberal arts curriculum encourages fashion students to study, discuss and challenge some of fashion’s important ethical issues throughout their four years. Those issues include:

  • Fair labor policies and practices
  • Body image
  • Gender roles
  • The role of animal products like fur
  • Environmental concerns associated with textiles and dyes and other substances

Study and discussion today, with the potential of real change in the near future: that is the promise of a liberal arts education.
