Housing Insecurity

Housing insecurity is a growing issue facing college-aged students nationwide. According to a 2019 national study: 29% of young adults experiencing homelessness were enrolled in college or another educational program. 

In accordance with the State of Illinois Higher Education Housing and Opportunities Act, Dominican can offer you information about emergency campus housing, emergency rental assistance, refer you to any eligible emergency funds on campus, and connect to community resources.

Social Services

Staff members in the Student Care Network can help you apply for resources such as SNAP benefits, LINK cards, or accompaniment for a variety of health or financial challenges. Submit the Stars Assistance form to learn more.

Resources for Student Parents and Caregivers

Whether you are a brand new parent or have been at it for a while, we know that having access to resources is invaluable. Here are a few resources you can access at Dominican:

  • The Lactation Room (located in Mazzuchelli 253)
  • Family Academy: A series of monthly sessions that inform families about university resources

  • Goedert Center: The center welcomes two to five-year-old children of Dominican students, faculty and staff, as well as children from neighboring communities.
