PRODUCTION STAFF PROFILES

Jeremiah Barr (Scenic & Properties Designer/Technical Director) is happy to be part of the Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson-Apt 2B team. Jeremiah has worked on every production at Dominican in some way since 2018. Some of his favorites include: The Seagull, The Wolves, Silent Sky. Professional credits include: Blood Countess (technical director), School for Scandal (technical director) with Idle Muse; Jesus Hopped the A Train (technical director), RUR (scenic design)  Glassheart (scenic design), Night of the Hunter (scenic design), Strange Cargo (props/puppet design) with City Lit; A Shadow Bright and Burning (scenic/props design) with Black Button Eyes; A Town Called Progress (scenic/props design) with Promethean Theatre Ensemble; The Pillowman (scenic/props), Betrayal (scenic/props design), The Language Archive (scenic/props design), When We Were Young and Unafraid (scenic/props design) with AstonRep Theatre Company. Jeremiah is super pleased to be working with such a great cast and fantastic crew and wishes them all the very best. A big shout out to Samantha for all her love and knowledge of cats that keeps him on his toes.

Samantha K. Barr (Production Manager) is very happy to be working in the Martin again with such a fine team. Sam has been at DU for just over 10 years and has enjoyed every project with the Dominican team. Special thanks to everyone who listens to her rant about DMX and schedules while keeping her from falling off of ladders.

Liz Cooper (Lighting Designer) is excited to be back designing for Dominican University, having designed the lighting for The Prom and Mamma Mia!, as well as many concerts with the Performing Arts Center. Some of her favorite lighting design credits include The Authorized Fan Production of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Ghost Quartet, Nevermore, and Shockheaded Peter (Black Button Eyes), Glassheart, Thirteen Days, The Sundial, and Peyton Place (City Lit), Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Haven), A Study in Scarlet, and Henry V (Promethean). She is a resident designer at City Lit.

Mateo Gutierrez (Production Stage Manager) is in his senior year at Dominican University studying Theatre Arts and History and is very excited to work on another show with such a fun team of people! Past show credits include: The SpongeBob Musical (Stage Manager), The Wolves (Stage Manager) with DUPAC; House of the Exquisite Corpse (Production Electrician) with Rough House Play House; Carousel (Assistant Stage Manager) with Music Theatre Works; No Man's Sky (Electrics Intern) with Steppenwolf. He would like to thank all the people who have helped develop him into the stage manager he is today.

Krista Hansen (Director/Dialect Coach/Sound Designer) has been with DU’s Theatre Arts program for over 22 years, serving as Artistic Director, Professor and department Chair. Krista holds a BA in Music and Theatre from Indiana University and an MFA in Acting and Directing from the University of Arizona. She has directed dozens of Dominican productions, including: The Wolves, The Prom, Mamma Mia!, The Addams Family, The Drowsy Chaperone, Macbeth, Legally Blonde, The Laramie Project, RENT, Noises Off and more. Krista has also appeared on the DU stage alongside her students in The Prom, Retrospective Revue and playing the title role in Mother Courage and Her Children; she will once again trod the boards here this February in Every Brilliant Thing. As a director, actor, intimacy choreographer, and voice/movement/dialect/character coach, Krista has worked with many theatres throughout Chicagoland, including AstonRep, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, Erasing the Distance, and more. She is a recipient of the Davlin Diversity Award and the Singing Hoosiers Distinguished Alumni Award, serves on the Advisory Board of The Beautiful City Project, and is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. Xochitl Montanez (Assistant Stage Manager/Backstage Crew) is a DU freshman and Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson-Apt 2B is her first show in her college career! Xochitl has worked on six different shows throughout high school, all working backstage with stage management and also costumes and lights, She has been in love with theatre and the process of what goes on backstage ever since she was introduced to it, and she is very excited to continue theatre at Dominican.

Chels Morgan (Intimacy & Violence Choreographer) is an intimacy, violence and movement director, AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator, professor at DePaul University, and the Director of Accessibility and Inclusion at the Intimacy Professionals Education Collective (IPEC). OFF-BROADWAY: How to Defend Yourself (New York Theatre Workshop). REGIONAL: Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Centre Theater Group, the Old Globe Theater, American Conservatory Theater, Shakespeare Theater Company, Bucks County Playhouse, among others. TELEVISION: LACE (AllBlk Network). EDUCATION: MFA, Loyola Marymount University.

Eliza Santiago (Assistant Director/Wardrobe Crew) is a junior at Dominican University studying Theatre Arts and this is her first time assistant directing a play! Past shows include, The Prom (Ensemble), Blithe Spirit (US Ruth & Edith, Stage Crew), The Wolves (#14), and The SpongeBob Musical (Ensemble). She would like to thank all her friends, family, peers and professors helping her put her best foot forward. :)

Khristian Summerall (Properties and Consumables Assistant)/Backstage Crew is a senior in the Theatre Arts performance program. Usually seen performing on stage, she is excited to a part of the magic from behind the scenes this time around.

Andrea White (Costume Designer/Costume Shop Manager) is excited to once again be costuming a production at Dominican. Her past work as costume designer at Dominican has included The Wolves and Blithe Spirit. She has also managed DU’s costume shop since spring 2024. She would like to give a shout out to her fantastic costume shop and wardrobe crew for all of their hard work! She also wants to thank her three biggest fans: Mom, Brett, and Charlotte (her cat) for all of their support and encouragement through the years.
