PRODUCTION STAFF PROFILES

 

Concetta Anemone (Assistant Stage Manager) is a neuroscience major with a passion for technical theatre. As a freshman, this is her first show with Dominican University, so she is excited to be involved! Special thanks to all those involved in The Prom!

Jeremiah Barr (Scenic & Properties Designer, Co-Technical Director) is very pleased to be with the outstanding team of A Midsummer Night's Cirque. Some of this other credits include, Romeo & Juliet (scenic), Silent Sky (props), She Kills Monsters (puppets). When not designing Jeremiah is the TD here at Dominican as well as at several other theatre companies around the city. Many thanks to Krista and the entire team, and a big thank you to Samantha - my wonderful partner in crime.

Samantha K. Barr (Production Manager) is the Production Manger of Dominican University Theatre Arts Lab Series as well as Director of Operations for the Dominican University Performing arts Center. When not at Dominican she can be found production managing small projects in the Chicagoland area and tinkering with lighting. Samantha is always pleased to be working with the amazing ensemble here at Dominican. She would like to give all her thanks to her friends for all the love, support and purrs.

Patrice Broyles (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman at Dominican University studying nursing and is thrilled to be a part of The Prom! Past shows include: Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, and The Alibis all at Marquette Catholic High School. She would love to thank the cast, her family, and her loved ones for supporting her. 

Liz Cooper (Lighting Designer) is excited to be back designing for Dominican University, having designed the lighting for Mamma Mia! in 2021, as well as many concerts with the Performing Arts Center. Some of her favorite lighting design credits include The Authorized Fan Production of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Ghost Quartet, Nevermore, Shockheaded Peter (Black Button Eyes), Thirteen Days, The Sundial, Father Ruffian and Peyton Place (City Lit), Bard Fiction (Commedia Beauregard), A Study in Scarlet and Henry V (Promethean). She is a resident designer at City Lit. 

Dyanna Daniels (Choreographer) is so excited to be working on The Prom at Dominican University! This is the 4th show she has choreographed for Dominican and she feels so blessed to be a part of this family! Dyanna received her MFA in Choreography from Jacksonville University in 2018. She is an adjunct professor at Dominican, Aurora University and North Central College. Dyanna also owns DLD Dance Center is a teaching artist at Paramount School of the Arts. 

David Fiorello (Music Director)  is an Equity Jeff Award-winning Music Director, Director, Performer, Orchestrator and Playwright that’s had his work featured across the globe. Most recent credits include Music Director for Blues in the Night (starring Tony-Nominee Felicia P. Fields), Music Director for To Be with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, and Director & Music Director for the East Coast and International Premiere of his show With a Song in My Heart: The Romance of Richard Rodgers. He music directed the hit production of Gypsy in Chicago, starring 8-time Jeff Award-Winner E. Faye Butler, has toured internationally with John Doyle's re-imagined Sweeney Todd, and served as Music Director for the Off-Broadway hit Danny & Sylvia: The Danny Kaye Story. David has worked with Porchlight Music Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, among many others. He is an adjunct faculty member with Columbia College Chicago and internationally helped create the Musical Theatre Program with the International Lyric Academy in Vicenza, Italy, where he now serves as head of the program. At Dominican, David has served as Music Director for Songs For a New World, Mamma Mia!, and Retrospective Revue. An in-demand Vocal Coach, he currently serves as Founder & CEO of Fiorello Studios, and has created the Unique Cabaret Experience series at Davenport’s Piano Bar & Cabaret. He is also Founder & Artistic Director of The Beautiful City Project, an organization that uses musical theatre to raise funds and awareness for local Chicago charities and non-profits. Mateo Gutierrez (Rehearsal Stage Manager, Master Electrician, Deck & Fly Chief) is a sophomore majoring in Theatre Arts. This will be his third production at Dominican and he is very excited to work with the wonderful cast and crew. Some other shows he has worked on are A Midsummer Night’s Cirque (ASM), Retrospective Revue (ASM), and Steppenwolf’s No Man’s Land (Electrics Intern). Big thanks to Sam, Mel, and Krista who have helped him grow as a technician and stage manager!

Krista Hansen (Director, Intimacy Choreographer) has been with Dominican University Theatre Arts for over 20 years, serving as Artistic Director, Professor and department Chair. Krista holds a BA in Music and Theatre from Indiana University and an MFA in Acting and Directing from the University of Arizona. She has directed dozens of Dominican productions, including: Mamma Mia!, The Addams Family, The Drowsy Chaperone, Macbeth, Legally Blonde, The Laramie Project, RENT, Noises Off and more. Krista has also appeared on the DU stage alongside her students in Retrospective Revue and playing the title role in Mother Courage and Her Children. As a director, actor, intimacy choreographer, and voice/movement/dialect coach, Krista has worked with many theatres throughout Chicagoland, including AstonRep, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, Erasing the Distance, and more. She is a recipient of the Davlin Diversity Award and the Singing Hoosiers Distinguished Alumni Award, serves on the Advisory Board of The Beautiful City Project, and is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. Bill Jenkins (Co-Technical Director) has worked as a scenic and lighting designer, technical director and theatre consultant for decades, designing hundreds of productions ranging from dance to opera to theatre.  He received his MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and also taught for ten years at Virginia Union University. Bill is the author and self-publisher of the acclaimed book, What to Do When the Police Leave: A Guide to the First Days of Traumatic Loss, based on his personal experience as the father of a homicide victim. He and his wife, Jennifer Bishop, are active in human rights and social justice arenas. He serves on several boards of directors for anti-gun violence and anti-death penalty organization and is a sought-after speaker on those issues.

Ashley Montero (Assistant Director) is extremely “zazzed” to work with this extraordinary cast and crew on such an important story. This is her first venture in directing, and she would like to thank Krista for the incredibly meaningful experience. Ashley enjoys all aspects of theatre from Front of House, Crew, Stage Management, and Acting. She would like to send love and light to everyone who has come out to see the show. Anna Vu (Production Stage Manager) is a Chicago-based freelance stage manager originally from Lilburn, GA. She graduated from Auburn University with a BFA in theatre management and a minor in marketing. Chicago credits include: Buried Child and The Language Archive (AstonRep), Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins 2022 and Tarot Card Play (Strawdog Theatre Company), Toni Stone (Goodman Theatre), Galileo’s Daughter and Blues for an Alabama Sky (Remy Bumppo), The Producers (Music Theater Works). Some regional theatre credits include: Murder on the Orient Express and Over the River and Through the Woods (Cortland Repertory Theatre), Pericles and The Comedy of Errors (Utah Shakespeare Festival), The Nutcracker (East Alabama Community Ballet). She currently serves as the production liaison at the Annoyance Theatre and Bar. She strives for women empowerment and diversity and inclusion in the art she creates. Kat Yackley (Costume Shop Manager) is ecstatic to be back in the Costume Shop. Collaborating with the amazing students and artists has been a true joy over the years. Thank you to her husband for his continued support and to her children for sharing their mom for a bit while she “plays with costumes.” She would also like to thank Krista for the opportunity to return to the theatre world that she loves so much.

Nadine Young (Rehearsal Stage Manager, Properties Chief) is excited to be working on The Prom. She was previously an Assistant Stage Manager for Dominican's A Midsummer Night's Cirque and Retrospective Revue. Nadine is very proud to have taught Patrice Broyles and Concetta Anemone everything she knows about stage management. Much love to everyone who is part of the show.
