Dominican is a school that truly bases itself on community. Coming from out of state into a new area was very intimidating. I knew no one who was going to the same college as me and it truly did add to my stress. It was during SOAR when I realized that I was going to be just fine. The torch leaders were all super personable and they really seemed to want to be there and helped us out with any questions we had. I felt a huge amount of relief after that because I had made two friends and got to know a lot more about the school and what to expect. The students are not the only part of the kind community, but the staff as well go out of their way at times, just to make students feel welcomed and truly make the campus feel like home. Friendship and community is a core value here at Dominican and it shows through the staff and students here. Dominican is absolutely first in friendship based off my time here.
