Maria Villanueva holds a Master of Arts in Trauma-Informed Leadership from Dominican University; Maria joined the PASOS Network as the Program Coordinator in July 2023, and is now the Assistant Director. Maria is currently pursuing her second Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry from Boston College’s Clough School of Theology and Ministry and is the recipient of the Haciendo Caminos Fellowship for her commitment to pastoral and ministerial leadership within the Hispanic community. Maria serves as co-advisor for the Organization of Latin American Students since 2023. Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics with a specialization in Business Management from North Park University. Her professional experience includes roles at the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Chicago Public Schools, and the Chicago Scholars Foundation, where she supported first-generation and underserved students in postsecondary enrollment and persistence, and the financial aid process. She is committed to advancing equitable access to higher education through mentorship, pastoral accompaniment, and culturally sustaining practices.
