Carlos Bautista was born and raised in the Little Village Area in Chicago, IL. He spent his college freshman and sophomore years at St. Joseph College Seminary discerning the priesthood and completed his undergraduate studies at Dominican University in 2017 with a BA in Theology. Carlos went on to pursue and complete a Master of Arts degree program in Liturgical Studies at the Liturgical Institute at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, IL in 2019.

As a child, he was fascinated with the Roman Catholic Liturgies by serving as an altar server and by high school, he was training and teaching children on how to be servers in the liturgies. Carlos’ fascinations on the liturgy led him to read the various liturgical texts used by priests and leaders of prayer during these various liturgical rites, and helped him understand the broad diverse world of liturgical studies.

After completing his Masters Degree, he took on a position as a Director of Liturgy at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Orland Hills, IL and currently serves the community there by overseeing various ministries and groups that make the liturgies vibrant and powerful. He also teaches Liturgical Studies at Dominican University as a St Martin de Porres OP Junior Teaching Fellow.

Carlos currently lives in Little Village with his family and new puppy, Cosmo.
