Annette Bochenek, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor and Business Information Specialist at the Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies. She is an award-winning educator and librarian with an expertise in using primary sources to teach business information literacy concepts. Dr. Bochenek's research showcases her interest in information literacy and primary source research methods across disciplines. Dr. Bochenek’s research centers on information literacy through trailblazing implementation of primary sources in the business classroom, with an emphasis on their practical applications in the business setting. Dr. Bochenek studies primary sources and affective responses in the business classroom, which have inspired her innovative research into implementation of primary sources in business education, grounded in the Association of College and Research Libraries’ (ACRL) Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) and the Society of American Archivists (SAA) Guidelines for Primary Source Literacy. Her educational background includes a B.A. in English Literature and Middle/Secondary Education from Butler University; M.A. in English Literature from Loyola University of Chicago; M.S. in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama—Tuscaloosa; and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Studies from Dominican University.
