Dr. Anita Stewart is an accomplished physician leader with extensive experience in medical management, pediatrics, and population health. As a Medical Director with Health Care Service Corporation since 2007, she oversees Medical Review and Utilization Management operations, supervises medical staff, conducts complex case reviews, and serves as a key resource on medical policy and high-cost case management. She has contributed to major initiatives, including developing cost-containment strategies, revising autism service guidelines, and implementing programs to improve neonatal outcomes.

Dr. Stewart’s background includes years of pediatric clinical practice, academic teaching at the University of Illinois and the University of Chicago, and leadership roles such as Medical Director of the Children’s Habilitative Center. She has also supported statewide review efforts through the Illinois Department of Public Aid and secured significant federal funding for community health programs.

She holds an MD, JD, and MPH, is board-certified in Pediatrics, and is licensed to practice both medicine and law in Illinois. Dr. Stewart currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rosalind Franklin University, continuing her commitment to improving healthcare quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
