Aarika Miller ’13, MSW ’16 has been named the head coach of Maine West High School’s competitive dance team. She has been dancing for 25 years and has experience in styles including jazz, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical/contemporary, belly dance, Latin and ballroom dance styles.

Aarika was one of the lead choreographers for the Dominican University competitive dance team. After her experience at the university level, she became a professional Latin and ballroom dancer. Aarika performed at events and competitions, and has taught lessons at a local studio.

Aarika graduated from Dominican with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2013 and later earned a master’s of social work in 2016 in interpersonal and community violence. She is a licensed clinical social worker with a background focusing on interpersonal and community violence.

Before coming to Maine West, Aarika was a social work intern at Elk Grove High School for the 2021–22 school year. Prior to Elk Grove, she spent two years at Triton College as a project coordinator for Violence Awareness.
