Lubna Saleh ’12 received a scholarship from the Fore Hadley Foundation, an organization supporting people impacted by congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), toward tuition at the University of Michigan where she is pursuing a master’s degree in public health. Lubna's son was born with CDH.

Following graduation from Dominican with a degree in nutrition and dietetics, Lubna worked as a nutrition specialist and an intervention coordinator at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she aimed to increase access to healthier food options in Chicagoland corner stores while providing nutrition education to vulnerable populations. She is an AmeriCorps alum and her volunteer placement was at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Additionally, she volunteered with Exodus World Services befriending Chicagoland’s Iraqi refugee community and helped ease their transition into their new home. Lubna raised $5.1 million for Lions Club International's humanitarian efforts and coordinated team training throughout Europe.

An immigrant from Jordan, Lubna recently wrote a research paper on food insecurity in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Read more about Lubna.
