Alex Gutierrez MLIS ’19, Oak Park Public Library's New Teen Services Librarian

Alex Gutierrez MLIS ’19 has been with the Oak Park Public Library (OPPL) since 2016, when he served as a volunteer. In December 2020, he began his new role as Teen Services Librarian.



While earning his master's in library and information science from Dominican, Alex was a part-time employee at OPPL while also serving as Reference Librarian at Cicero Public Library.



"I've always wanted to be a librarian and have the opportunity to work with youths because of their energy and optimism," Alex said.
