Mary Mulholland ’42, who raised four children and sold real estate in the Chicago area for decades, celebrated her 100th birthday. Mary graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and Rosary College.

"I thought I was going to be a librarian," Mary said. "But we started having kids."

Mary, who was known then as Mary Edith Barrett, met her husband on a blind date while she was in college. They lived in New York and Elmhurst before settling in Hinsdale.

For a time, Mary worked at the perfume counter in the Marshall Field's store in downtown Oak Park. But after she had her children, she got her real estate license and most of her 40-year career was spent working for Adams & Myers Realtors.

Mary drove until she was 97, and got her first hole-in-one when she was 94. Mary has since given up golf, but regularly plays bridge with a group of friends from church.
