Colleen Waltman MLIS ’95 has been hired as the new executive director of the Homewood Public Library. She comes to Homewood from her job as director of Blue Island Public Library, where she has worked since 2014.



Colleen has a bachelor of journalism degree from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana and a master of library science degree from Dominican University in River Forest. She has worked in academic libraries, including five years at the University of Chicago. In 2003, she transitioned to full-time public library work.



Colleen has held numerous local and national positions with various organizations and has presented at the Illinois Library Association Conference.
