From Student to Scholar in South Africa

A decision to study abroad can change your life and shape your future. Learn from Assistant Professor of Criminology and Sociology Clinton Nichols, as he speaks about his decision to study abroad as an undergraduate in South Africa, and the ways his experience led to his field of study and career in academia.

Lessons from Abroad

Hear from Dominican students who chose to study abroad, and find out how their experiences changed their perspective and prepared them for the future.

International Service in Guatemala
Tuesday, November 17, 3:30–4:15 p.m.

Students who participate in this life-changing program provide service to the people of Guatemala, while learning about their social, cultural, economic, political, and religious histories, as well as their current realities.

Planning to Study Abroad
Wednesday, November 18, 12:00 noon–12:45 p.m.

Learn about all of the study abroad programs offered at Dominican, and learn how students can plan ahead academically and financially.

A Return to China
Wednesday, November 18, 3:00–3:45 p.m.

Sometime in the next few years, Dominican University hopes to return students to China on a short-term, faculty-led program in which students will study the politics, policies, economics, society and culture of this East Asian nation.

International Business Exchange Programs

Students in the Brennan School of Business have a unique opportunity to participate in international business exchange programs in Chile, Colombia and France.

Meet International Students at Dominican
Thursday, November 19, 2:30–3:15 p.m.

Meet some of our international students who chose to travel to the U.S. and study at Dominican University. They each have a unique story to tell about their decision to come to Dominican, and their experiences adapting to life in the U.S.

Study abroad for a year at Blackfriars Hall at University of Oxford
Monday, November 23, 12:00 noon–1:00 p.m.

Juniors with a GPA of 3.7 or above can study and live for an academic year at Dominican-founded Blackfriars Hall. Students will experience the University of Oxford’s world class tutorial system, while studying theology, philosophy, English literature, or British history.
