Welcome Ceremony: Sunday, August 9

  • The event will start at 11:30 am and conclude at 2:00 pm. A family workshop in (English/Spanish) is scheduled on that date. A parent/guardian should attend the welcome ceremony. Lunch will be provided.
  • You will check into the Social Hall upon arrival. Student workers will be available to guide you and your family member/guardian to the Social Hall, where the Welcome Ceremony will take place.

Summer Bridge Program

  • The Aspire Summer Program is an admission requirement (you must pass all three courses)
  • The summer bridge program begins Monday, August 10, and will run for two weeks, ending on Friday, August 21.
  • You will not have class or required programming on the weekends during the summer bridge program.

Move-In Logistics

Students participating in Summer Bridge who will be living on campus should review the information below. Residential housing is available for out-of-state students and students who live at least 40 miles
from campus.

  • You will move into Dominican University on Sunday, August 9th, anytime from 10:00 am to 11:30 a.m.
  • When you arrive for Move-In, please park in the East Lot. The East Lot is located on Park Ave between Greenfield St. and Division Street.
  • You will check in and receive your room keys in the Coughlin Commons. There will be signs to direct you to the building’s entrance.
  • If you have any questions regarding what items are not allowed in the residence halls, please visit the Housing FAQs page here.
  • Please bring room fans (not AC units). There is limited AC in Coughlin Hall.
  • If you require housing accommodations (AC unit, single room, etc.) Please contact Accommodations and Disability Access at ada@dom.edu before the program starts.
  • We ask that you give yourself time to move in your belongings before the welcome lunch which starts at 11:30 am.

Meals: Summer Bridge

  • Free meals will be added to your Dominican ID card at no cost to you, allowing you to order lunch for those two weeks. The university will also provide dinner to students living on campus throughout the summer bridge program. Students commuting (to and from home) will not need dinner, as your day will end generally between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
