Because mathematics is so integral to modern society, mathematics majors are often in demand after graduation.

A mathematics major provides the skills to work in many businesses, including banking, insurance, manufacturing, logistics, market research and more. Recent Dominican mathematics graduates work at a variety of outstanding organizations, including:

  • Abbott Laboratories
  • Accenture
  • Aon Hewitt
  • Cook County Assessor’s Office
  • Gateway Computers
  • Household Finance
  • Marriott Hotels
  • Northern Trust Corporation
  • Sargent & Lundy
  • Siemens
  • Zurich

Dominican mathematics majors who intend to teach secondary school are in demand as well. Recent placements include:

  • Providence Catholic High School
  • Morton East High School
  • Ridgewood High School
  • Harper College
  • Triton College

Some mathematics majors go directly on to graduate study in mathematics or a related field. In recent years Dominican students have gone on to attend The Ohio State University, Northeastern Illinois University, the University of Akron and others.

Mathematics majors considering an MBA degree are encouraged to pursue Dominican’s five-year BA/MBA or BS/MBA program. Qualified students may begin graduate-level work in Dominican’s Brennan School of Business while they are still undergraduates. This option reduces the time needed to earn the MBA degree.
