River Forest, IL - Dominican University has been recognized as a recipient of the Daily Herald Business Ledger’s inaugural Diversity in Business Awards. The university is the only educational institution to be included among 18 Chicago and suburban award recipients, including Bank of America, Comcast, and Zurich NA.

The Diversity in Business Awards recognize businesses that have shown exceptional commitment to promoting practices that advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace and serve as leaders in bolstering equality across all areas of diversity, including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation and religion.

“Dominican has a long history of committing to diversity, equity and inclusion--on campus, in our surrounding community and in the larger world. This intentional commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of our faculty and staff has deep benefit for our student body, creating an environment where they thrive. We are honored to have our work recognized by the Daily Herald Business Ledger. We continue to work toward social justice, to amplify the voices in our community and to create a more equitable world,” said Dr. Precious Porras, chief diversity officer.

Honorees will be celebrated during a virtual reception on August 12 and profiled in a special section of the Daily Herald Business Ledger published on September 13.
