Michael Roman, in an article in the Village Free Press, discusses Dominican's announcement of spring break immersion programs in the adjoining suburb of Maywood. The program is part of a larger commitment to tackle racial and social injustice in the Village of River Forest--and on campus. The university is one of a small cohort of universities designated by the Association of American Colleges and Universities as a Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation campus center.

Last year, River Forest passed a Twin Villages Covenant with Maywood, committing the village to forging a closer relationship with the predominantly Black community. Dominican is making strides toward expanding and deepening its relationship with Maywood as well.
