Based on their partnerships with national and international companies, Brooke Reavey, assistant professor of marketing, and Jamie Shaw, executive director of career programs and employer relations, offer tips for attracting university students of color for the market research field. Suggestions include recruiting from regional schools before doing a national search, looking for applicants from AACSB-accredited business schools, and asking candidates to share market research experience in the classroom or in jobs early in the recruiting process. They also encourage employers to volunteer their time at local universities with diverse student bodies, and provide helpful information about retaining BIPOC hires.
