Dominican University Welcomes New Leaders in Human Resources, Hispanic-Serving Initiatives

Two leaders with professional backgrounds in diversity and inclusion building have joined Dominican University in newly created roles. 

Dr. Gail Phoenix, vice president of people and culture, and Dr. Lizette Rivera, director of Hispanic-serving initiatives and the Title V project, were welcomed by the university in March following nationwide searches.

Dr. Sophia Duffy, Associate Professor of Psychology, to Receive 2024 Black Excellence Award

Dr. Sophia Duffy, associate professor of psychology, is the recipient of Dominican University’s 2024 Black Excellence Award, presented by the Center for Cultural Liberation.

This award, now in its second year, recognizes a faculty member, staff member or community partner who has demonstrated excellence in scholarship and community service, while elevating inclusion and access to education and resources for Black and African American students at Dominican.
