Strategy: Mobilize community support to ensure that faculty, staff, and students meet equity and inclusion objectives
  • Provide leadership and resources to achieve diversity initiatives
  • Establish structures to more promptly and thoroughly address issues of community wide concern regarding equity and inclusion
  • Develop a reporting mechanism to insure that each department responds to campus climate issues with action and accountability
Office of Diversity,, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI)
  • Continue work with diversity committees on pedagogy, climate and cultural competency training
  • Work with CTLE on plan to introduce additional bias reduction initiatives
  • Move language access policy through process outlined in recommendations
Academic Affairs
  • Engage Deans in developing college action plans for diversity and inclusion; include expectations in roles and responsibilities document
  • Develop Faculty Fellows Program focused on equipping faculty to address race, inequalities, and campus climate concerns
  • Engage faculty governance in ensuring that inclusive teaching and intercultural competence; i.e. awareness differences in the backgrounds and needs of students is a criterion for tenure and promotion
Student Life / Athletics
  • Leverage student organizations; campus activity board, etc. to implement bystander training and bias reduction initiatives
  • Further develop and integrate academic and social support for students to increase undergraduate and graduate retention 
  • Establish Athletics Diversity Council to open dialog about diversity issues within the department
Enrollment Management
  • Develop financing a college education primer to increase student understanding of financial commitment and debt reduction options.
  • Help students understand how to maximize ROI
  • Develop an equity recruitment plan to ensure a diverse student body that is sustainable and meets or exceeds diversity at peer colleges and universities
Mission and Ministry
  • Leverage student leadership opportunities; adding bias reduction to ministry portfolio
  • Continue partnering with "Student Commons" partners on cultural competency training for student workers and leaders
  • Develop metrics for Ministry en lo Cotidiano and SLAM to support retention
