In order to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community, Dominican University has identified the following overarching goals and strategic initiatives:

  • Hire, retain and promote a diverse faculty and staff, at levels that meet/exceed that of peer institutions and the national average.
  • Enhance academic excellence through the recruitment and persistence of students from all backgrounds; and in particular, promote Dominican as a campus of opportunity for students from historically underrepresented groups.
  • Ensure that faculty, staff, and students demonstrate the personal growth and professional competence necessary to support a culturally diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Establish a campus climate in which all members feel valued, respected and safe, and where incidents of bias are reported and investigated in a timely manner, and outcomes are communicated without compromising confidentiality.
