Linda M. McDonald, LDN, MS, is the Program Manager of the Dominican University Head Start Nutrition Services Program. The program provides services as the nutrition consultants for the City of Chicago Department of Family and Support Services. The program has provided DU students stable placements for their community nutrition internship rotation.

Ms. McDonald has had a variety of experiences in pediatric nutrition, initially at LaRabida Children’s Hospital in Chicago. She worked as the in-patient and outpatient dietitian in the allergy, feeding therapy, developmental special needs and Failure to Thrive clinics along with the foster parent program. She also served as the food service supervisor to manage the hospital meals and catering. She concluded her 27 years with the hospital as the Coordinating dietitian of a USDA community nutrition grant.

Other experiences include consulting dietitian for University of Chicago Pediatric Community Nutrition Education Program, Chicago Public Schools Head Start Program, Ada S. McKinley Community Services, and Nutrition Education Training Program (N.E.T.). She has worked with doulas at Women, Infant and Children Program (WIC) to provide nutrition services to pregnant women.

The majority of her career has been in service to infants, children, adolescents and women. She has also worked with senior citizens in the Golden Diner Program for City of Chicago.
