Growing up in Iowa, Abby always had an interest in healthcare and later, public health. While earning her Masters of Public Health degree, she studied the survival rate of women with triple negative breast cancer in Kumasi, Ghana. This interest in breast cancer led Abby to working at Mayo Clinic’s multidisciplinary breast cancer consortium, allowing her to collaborate with researchers across the country and around the world in studying the genetic and environmental factors that cause cancer. Using her knowledge and passion in healthcare, Abby now works for a healthcare software company. In her free time, she enjoys exploring national parks and visiting new restaurants around Chicago.
