Join historian Dr. Shannen Dee Williams for a discussion on the moral necessity and ethical responsibility of disabusing the nation and church of the enduring myth of Catholic innocence during colonialism, slavery, and segregation. She will also share insights from her forthcoming book, Subversive Habits: Black Catholic Nuns in the Long African American Freedom Struggle. Dr. Williams is a historian of the African-American experience with research and teaching specializations in Black Catholic history, black women’s history, and feminist and womanist thought.
