Do I have to attend the Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) program?

Yes. All new students are required to attend the full one-day SOAR program.

What happens at SOAR?

At SOAR, you will register for classes, be introduced to services and resources available on campus, discover opportunities for involvement, and be welcomed into the Dominican University community. If you need to take a Math or Foreign Language Assessment, you will do this prior to SOAR.

What is the schedule for the Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) program?

The SOAR schedule may be different for each student. Winter SOAR programs are virtual, through Zoom, and start with a “Welcome” at 9am CST followed by sessions to get to know other new students. Campus partners who will serve as supports for you during your time at DU will join SOAR and speak with you about their services. Lastly, you will meet with an advisor to get registered for your classes. You will receive a full schedule for the day when you log in that morning.

How do I register for SOAR?

All students who have paid their tuition deposit will receive email and text messages with a customized link to register for your SOAR program.

What time do I need to log in?

Please log in to the Zoom link send to you no later than 9:00 a.m. CST. The program will conclude by 4:00 p.m. CST.

How do I change my SOAR date?

How does course registration work?
