Enter the rewarding field of social work faster and more confidently than you thought possible.

This program is for motivated undergraduates and working adults who want to improve the lives of individuals, families and communities—and find their place in the social services field as soon as they can. This unique program was developed for compassionate individuals who know they want to make a difference in the world, yet lack the foundational knowledge and credentials to break in. This is a perfect opportunity to hit the ground running; learn the ins and outs of a satisfying, vital field; find your niche, and come away with a Master of Social Work (MSW), making you more marketable, confident, and prepared to advance in your career.

Our instructors bring a host of non-profit experience in human resources, leadership, social work and human services, advocacy and human development to their teaching, in addition to reflecting Dominican’s 100-plus-year commitment to making a positive difference in the world. You will acquire essential knowledge about the fields of human services and social work—across such areas as family services, disability advocacy, international studies, labor relations, gerontology, military families studies and more. Then, you will have the opportunity to choose your concentration, as well complete field work in your area of focus.

What sets this program apart is the combination of rigor, efficiency, and convenience. Certain MSW courses count toward both the Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) in Human Services and MSW degrees, reducing overall completion time for both degrees by up to 30 credits, saving you time and money. BPS courses can be completed in the evenings on the campus of Triton College in River Grove or online. MSW courses can be completed in the evenings at Dominican’s River Forest campus or at the University Center of Lake County in Grayslake.
