Student Program

Torch Group Meeting | 2-2:30 p.m.

Orientation 101: Beyond the Books | 2:30-4 p.m. | Fine Arts Building, Lund Auditorium
Blending a unique combination of improvisational comedy, education, and audience participation, Orientation 101: Beyond the Books provides a provocative look at the issues of self-esteem, dating, sex and, ultimately, acquaintance rape on college campuses. The show explores how mixed messages, gender role stereotypes and unrealistic fantasies contribute to misunderstandings between the sexes.  Although the message is a serious one, the show uses humor throughout to engage audiences in candid discussions about interpersonal relationships.

Students will rotate through the following programs with their Torch Groups:

  • Be A Star: Getting Involved on Campus | Crown Library, Springer Suite, Lower Level, Room 002/003
Students will discover ways to be involved on campus through student organizations, leadership programs, performing arts, intramurals, recreation and ministry.
  • Act Like a Star: Student Conduct and Campus Safety Policies | Lewis Hall, Lewis Lounge
Students will be introduced to the expectations of the university and learn about resources to keep them safe on campus.
  • Torch Group Meeting | Various Locations around campus
Students will gather in their TORCH Groups for more activities and discussion.
