University Gleeful after 34th Annual Trustee Benefit Concert and Gala
More than 1,000 people felt the glee at Dominican's 34th Annual Trustee Benefit Concert & Gala, featuring Matthew Morrison, the Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe-nominated singer/dancer/actor on March 8. Acclaimed for his performances on Broadway in hits Hairspray, South Pacific, and The Light in the Piazza, and for his role as Mr. Schuester on the hit television show Glee, Morrison is a genuine “quintuple threat” – actor, dancer, singer, songwriter, and musician. The New York Times calls him “a talent of formidable versatility and intelligence."
The evening also included the presentation of Dominican’s 2014 Bravo Award to WTTW for the station’s longstanding commitment to performing arts programming. WTTW’s Phil Ponce, host of Chicago Tonight, accepted the award on behalf of the station.
The university’s signature event raises much-needed scholarship support, celebrates world-class artists, and honors those who champion the performing arts in Chicago’s metropolitan area. This year's Benefit Concert & Gala raised more than $450,000 for student scholarships.
