About University Ministry
University Ministry provides opportunities to…
- grow more deeply in relationship with God;
- learn more about the Catholic faith and other faith traditions;
- contribute to a more just and humane world;
- build up a welcoming university community.
Our department's goals, inspired by the University's mission, are expressed through the wisdom of the Dominican Order's four pillars - Community, Service, Study, and Prayer. These goals are:
Students, faculty, and staff will understand, value, and build relationship-centered, diverse communities in which all belong.
Students, faculty, and staff will understand, value, and build right relationships to address injustice, fostering hope, unity, and transformation.
Students, faculty, and staff will explore, value, and engage life’s profound questions. We do this in dialogue with one another in the light of faith.
Students, faculty, and staff will explore, value, and grow in relationship with God. This calls us into contemplative practices grounded in the wisdom of the Catholic tradition and that of other faith traditions.
Our commitment to each member of this community feeling a sense of belonging and cooperating with one another is inspired by the university’s Catholic and Dominican heritage and its motto: Caritas et Veritas. We invite you to join us in this commitment, and to share with us your inspiration for Love and Truth.
