Combined BA/MSEd or BS/MSEd

Get a head start on a master’s degree in education!

At Dominican University, undergraduate students interested in becoming certified early childhood teachers have the option of applying for the combined BA/MSEd or BS/MSEd. This program allows you to obtain a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science in Education degree with Type 04 (Early Childhood) certification in approximately six years. Once you complete your BA or BS program major, you can begin the graduate program in early childhood education.

You need to apply for this program no later than the second semester of your junior year. Once accepted, you can take two graduate-level courses in the MSEd early childhood program in your senior year. The remainder of the program is completed following your graduation from our undergraduate school.

During their undergraduate studies, students complete the required core courses and all credits toward their undergraduate degree.

They can then take the remaining early childhood education courses at the graduate level during the summer, fall and spring of the following year. Learn more…
