Adjunct Faculty - Music


In addition to teaching at Dominican University, Bob Sherman serves as Guitar Department Chair at the Merit School of Music. He also teaches at the Old Town School of Folk Music as well as at his private teaching studio in Oak Park. Prior teaching engagements include the University of Chicago Laboratory School, Sherwood Conservatory at Columbia College, and Brookline Music School.

He studied guitar and jazz at Indiana University with Ernesto Bitetti, Luis Zea, David Baker, and Pat Harbison. He’s honored to have shared the studio and stage with many wonderful musicians and continues to perform as a soloist and in various ensembles in the Chicago area. He lives with his wife and three children in Oak Park.
