Illinois Research Opportunities

Purpose: Students have the opportunity to apply for research projects and fellowships based in Illinois.

Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois Fellowship

  • Apply if: you are an Illinois resident and U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident who is Black/African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, American Indian or Alaskan Native

    • For applicants with financial need who have been unconditionally admitted to a doctorate or master’s degree program in an Illinois participating institution
    • Applicants must plan on pursuing a career in teaching or administration at an Illinois post-secondary institution or Illinois higher education governing board

Illinois Early Childhood Fellows

  • Apply if: you have at least 5 years of professional experience, with at least two years of experience in early childhood

    • For teachers who have an interest in public policy, advocacy, or systems, and a basic grasp of how they can be used to benefit young children and their families
    • Applicants must demonstrate leadership talent
    • Graduate degree is preferred
    • People of color are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Deadline: TBD, applications for the 2013-2015 Fellows will open in January 2013

Illinois Government Fellowships and Internships

  • Apply if: you are currently enrolled in a university (internship) or if you are a graduate of a university (fellowship)

    • For applicants who have strong reading, writing, and communication skills
    • Applicants must have the ability to maintain a professional attitude in a high-stress environment

    • Fellowship deadline is on 6/14/13
    • Spring 2012 internship deadline was on 12/16/11
    • Summer 2012 internship deadline was on 4/13/12
    • Fall 2012 internship deadline was on 7/20/12
