Lund Auditorium
Tickets $32 | $22
There’s only one place in Chicagoland to catch this family-friendly, extraordinarily joyful
holiday concert showcasing classic, contemporary and original material drawn from
Rockapella’s multiple holiday recordings. The group’s early gigs on Manhattan street corners earned
them a slot on the television special
Spike & Co.: Do It A Cappella, hosted by Spike Lee, which led to five seasons on the
award-winning PBS television program
Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? More than a dozen albums later, the
five-man powerhouse is a driving force in 21st-century vocal music, adding a surprising
range of material and styles—including human beatbox and outrageous percussive effects.
This year, let the “fa-la-las” be tinged with Rockapella’s infectious blend of soul, rock and
jazz.
“The world of a cappella music, which had seemed like a calm, predictable place
inhabited by barbershop and madrigal singers, suddenly is full of all sorts of new possibilities.”
