Congratulations on your acceptance to Dominican University! Here's a guide to your next steps.

As a Dominican student, you will be challenged and supported daily to think for yourself and think big, be rigorous and passionate about your pursuits, and do your part to make the world a better place.

What’s Next?

When you receive your acceptance kit, you’ll find information about everything you need to do. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.  Call (708) 524-6800 or domadmis@dom.edu, and we’ll put you in touch with your admission counselor.

Pay Your Tuition Deposit

Start by paying your tuition deposit —this lets us know you’re coming and secures your place in the entering class. The $200 tuition deposit is refundable until May 1 for fall enrollment and November 1 for spring enrollment.

Visit Campus

Come and take a look, especially if you’ve never visited—or even if you have. We’ve got lots to show you, and you’ll get a feel for what lies ahead. We’re happy to arrange a personal visit to discuss your academic interests, degree requirements and financial aid.

Apply for Financial Aid

Beginning October 1, 2017, or as soon thereafter as possible, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any other documents required by the Office of Financial Aid. The FAFSA is required if you wish to be considered for need-based financial aid. Dominican University's code is 001750. Contact our Office of Financial Aid at (708) 524-6809 or finaid@dom.edu.

Live on Campus

We invite you to consider living on campus: of course you’ll be close to everything—the library, classes, labs—and your friends.

If you plan to live on campus, you must submit a housing application along with a $200 housing deposit to secure your on-campus residency. The housing application is available online.

Our campus comfortably offers the security of the suburbs and the nearby amenities of the city. Dominican is surrounded by the shops, restaurants, recreation areas and historic, tree-lined neighborhoods of Oak Park and River Forest—yet we’re just minutes from downtown Chicago.

Living here will make it easier for you to immerse yourself in all our campus has to offer, including:

  • More than 35 clubs and organizations
  • Fitness, recreation and club sports
  • Volunteer, service and ministry opportunities
  • Performing Arts Center concerts and theatre

You’ll be energized by all the on-campus options and better able to focus on your pursuits.

Submit your Transcripts

Before you attend SOAR, arrange to have your final high school transcript, AP and/or IB test scores, and any college transcripts sent to:

Dominican University
Attn: Undergraduate Admission
7900 W. Division Street
River Forest, IL 60305

We need your final high school transcript to comply with state and federal regulations for financial aid eligibility, to complete your enrollment and to advise you on course selection and registration. Your final high school transcript must be submitted by your first day of school.

Attend Orientation

We’ve developed a program to welcome you into the Dominican University community and give you the tools to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

At SOAR (Student Orientation Advising & Registration), you’ll:

  • Meet with a faculty advisor
  • Register for classes
  • Attend student life, technology and career development workshops
  • Socialize with your new classmates

Once your tuition deposit is paid, register online for SOAR. It is required for new Dominican students and takes place in June and July.
