Dominican University Book Club to Discuss The Attack
Dominican University’s Book Club will discuss Yasmina Khadra’s The Attack on Thursday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. The discussion will be held in the Lewis Lounge located on the first floor of Lewis Hall, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.
The Attack explores the Mideast conflict from a unique perspective. Dr. Amin Jaafari’s
world is shattered when his wife, Sihem, is killed in a suicide bombing in Tel Aviv. The
Arab-Israeli surgeon begins a tortured search for answers as he learns that Sihem might have been
the suicide bomber responsible for the catastrophic event. Faced with the ultimate betrayal, he
must find a way to reconcile cherished memories of his wife with the growing realization that she
may have had another life, one that was entirely removed from the comfortable, modern existence
that they shared. Khadra, the author of the bestselling
The Swallows of Kabul, offers a timely and haunting depiction the devastating human costs
of terrorism.
