SOAR Session 3
Through the Student Orientation And Registration (SOAR) program, you will be welcomed into the Dominican University community. You will discover the tools needed to be a successful Dominican student.
At SOAR, you will take your academic placement tests, meet with your academic advisor and register for classes, attend workshops, connect with campus resources, and meet your classmates!
It’s the launching pad for your academic career, so step up to your future!
Part 1: The first step in your orientation to Dominican University is attending the SOAR program, which is specifically designed for new students. There is not a parent orientation component as part of SOAR.
Part 2: The second step of your orientation is Welcome Weekend. Welcome Weekend builds on your experience at SOAR and provides additional information and resources to help you be a successful Dominican University student. You will receive information about registering for Welcome Weekend in the mail over the summer. There is a parent orientation at Welcome Weekend, August 22-23.
Each SOAR program is two days, and you are required to attend the two-day program in its entirety. Please make your travel arrangements after you have received confirmation of your SOAR Program date. The overnight experience is required of all incoming first year students, residents and commuters.
Overnight accommodations will be provided in Centennial Hall, which has cluster-style rooms and semi-private baths. Bed linens and towels will be provided. Please bring toiletries, personal items, and an alarm clock.
Please call the Dean of Students Office at (708) 524-6822 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or need special accommodations.
